By Car
General Information
Windsor Lakes is located on Horton Road, Datchet, Berkshire, SL3 9HY, on the former Liquid Leisure Windsor site. The venue is easy to reach from Windsor, Slough, Heathrow, the M4 and the M25, with the site clearly visible from Horton Road.
For sat nav, please use: Windsor Lakes, Horton Road, Datchet, Berkshire, SL3 9HY. During the changeover period, some navigation apps may still list the site as Liquid Leisure Windsor or Plastic Playground Wake Park.
From the M4 (Junction 5)
- Exit the Motorway: Leave the M4 at Junction 5 (Langley Interchange) and follow signs south toward Datchet (B470 / Majors Farm Road).
- Turn Left: In just less than a mile, turn left onto Ditton Road.
- Follow to the End: Follow Ditton Road straight until it ends at the T-junction.
- Turn Left: Turn left onto Horton Road.
- Arrive: The entrance gates to Windsor Lakes will be on your right-hand side around 3/4 mile from Ditton Road (after the road bends to the left).
From the M25 (Junction 14)
- Exit the Motorway: Leave the M25 at Junction 14 (Heathrow Terminal 4 / Poyle) and follow signs west toward Poyle / Horton / Datchet onto Horton Road.
- Through Horton: Continue straight through Horton Village, staying on the main road as it becomes Stanwell Road and then Datchet Road.
- The Reservoir Roundabout: Pass the Queen Mother Reservoir on your right. At the roundabout (the junction with Welley Road), take the 2nd exit (straight across) to stay on Horton Road.
- Arrive: Follow the road for roughly 300 yards. The main entrance to Windsor Lakes will be on your left-hand side.
From Windsor Town Centre
Leave Windsor: Head eastbound out of the town centre on Datchet Road (B470), passing Windsor & Eton Riverside station on your left.
Cross the River: Continue straight over the Thames via Victoria Bridge. The road name changes here to Windsor Road (B470).
Turn Left into Datchet: Follow Windsor Road into the village and turn left onto the High Street (B470).
Turn Right at the Green: At the two mini-roundabouts by the Datchet Village Green, take both second exits onto Horton Road (B376).
Arrive: Follow Horton Road straight for approximately 1.2 miles. The entrance to Windsor Lakes will be on your right-hand side about 300m after a left hand bend leaving the village.
By Train
The Line & Service
The closest station to Windsor Lakes is Sunnymeads, which has a railway bridge that has to be scaled to complete the half mile 10 to 12-minute walk to our main entrance.
Please note: if you have mobility issues this journey could be very restrictive as stairs are required to exit the station, and to avoid further stairs the journey is slightly longer.
- The Train Line: Take the South Western Railway (SWR) service running directly between London Waterloo and Windsor & Eton Riverside (via Richmond and Twickenham).
- Frequency: Trains typically run twice an hour in both directions.
- Crucial Info: Platform Restrictions at Sunnymeads – Sunnymeads is a short-platform station that utilizes an automatic selective door opening system.
- Important: If you are travelling on an 8 or 10-carriage train, you must travel in the front 7 carriages to exit the train at Sunnymeads. Doors on the rear carriages will not open. Always listen to the on-train announcements or check the internal screens to ensure you are in the correct part of the train before arrival.
Walking Directions from Sunnymeads Station
Once you have safely disembarked, and exiting the station via the stairs, there are two options depending on mobility:
- Exit the Station: If you are OK with stairs, take a hard left to follow the path parallel to the train tracks up the stairs to the top of the bridge, where you will turn left onto an unpaved pedestrian walkway area over the bridge. If you want to avoid the stairs, you can leave the station via Acacia Ave, then turning left down Welley Ave, before turning left onto Welley Road and over the bridge. Please note: when crossing the bridge, stay to the marked walking area until crossing the road where indicated by the road markings.
- The Roundabout: Follow Welley Road straight until you reach the large roundabout.
- Turn Left: Take the first exit on your left at the roundabout onto Horton Road. Please take care when crossing the roads to get to the necessary pathways.
- Arrive: Walk down Horton Road for roughly 250 yards. The main entrance gates to Windsor Lakes will be clearly visible on your left-hand side.
(Note: If your specific train skips the Sunnymeads stop, book your ticket to Datchet Station instead, it is only a 5-minute taxi ride or a scenic 20-minute walk).
By Bus
Lakeside Stop
We are lucky enough to have a dedicated bus stop located right by our main entrance gates called Datchet Common, Lakeside (Stop LK for buses heading northwest toward Datchet/Slough, and Stop LJ for buses heading southeast toward Horton/Wraysbury).
Route 5 | Operated by Thames Valley Buses
- The Route: Connects Heathrow Terminal 5 and Slough Town Centre (via Poyle, Datchet, Chalvey, and Cippenham).
- Where to get off: Ask for the Datchet Common, Lakeside stop. Once you step off the bus, our entrance gates are just a few yards away.

Routes 10 & 10A | Operated by Carousel Buses
- The Route: Connects Windsor Town Centre (Windsor Castle / Parish Church) and Staines (Elmsleigh Bus Station), running through Datchet, Horton, and Wraysbury.
- Where to get off: Disembark at the Datchet Common, Lakeside stop, which sits right outside our front entrance.
